Melissa Muller, MA, LMHC
Melissa moved to St Augustine, Florida in 2013. Previously, she lived and worked in Ketchikan Alaska where she worked in community mental health, residential treatment and private practice. She has coordinated emergency services, developed a preschool for children with behavior disorders, and counseled adolescents, adults, couples, and families in individual and group therapy. She was on the Adjunct Faculty, at the University of Alaska, where she taught undergraduate psychology courses.
Melissa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Melissa received her Masters Degree from The Adler School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, in 2000. She holds a certificate in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, also from the Adler School of Professional Psychology, she is a Certified Sexual Addictions Specialist and a candidate for Certified Sexual Addictions Therapist (CSAT). In her private practice Melissa treats individuals, couples, and families. She enjoys working with adolescents and adults. She was the Clinical Director of an inpatient treatment center for adolescents who were on Probation or experiencing family issues. Melissa has specializations in treating adolescents, eating disorders, trauma, and sexual addictions. In addition she enjoys working with the LGBT community. She often works with families in the crisis of divorce to make the transition as healthy as possible for both the children and the adults in the family. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a positive, wellness approach, Melissa also treats depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other mental health issues. She and her husband have fostered many children and adolescents in their home along with raising their two children. Melissa enjoys working with individuals and families to promote positive change! There is nothing more satisfying, for the client and counselor than to see positive change and growth! |
