Tammy Betz MSW, CSSW has a varied career in both education and social work. She taught for ten years in the public school system in both elementary and secondary education. She received a Masters degree in social work at the University of South Florida and continued on to receive a graduate certificate in pastoral counseling from Liberty University. She became a master teacher with the United Way and combined her skills as a teacher and as a social work to train pre-k teachers in state standards to become certified in Child Development.
Still within the realm of social work, Tammy held the position of therapist with the Child Advocacy Center where she counseled families dealing with sexual abuse. She also held the position of Adoption Specialist with Heartland for Children as she advocated for and facilitated adoptions for families seeking to adopt. She too held the position of Adoption Specialist at the Florida Baptist Children Homes for the state of Florida. It is worth noting, she herself is an adoptive parent and an expert in adoption issues. Presently, she is a certified school social worker with the Polk County School Board where she counsels students and families on issues of Child abuse, Neglect, Abandonment, Reactive Attachment Disorder, Truancy, School refusal, ADHD, Bi-polar disorder, Autism, IEP/504, mental health, Asperger’s, LBGT, Divorce, Single parenting, grandparents as parents, Neuro/Aspie relationships, Beyond-Logic-And-Control parenting discipline, trauma informed care, and Solution Focused Therapy. She found the Children in Between parenting course highly effective for anyone needing to gain skills in communication. The course is life changing. |
