Children in Between is an approved course curriculum accepted by Florida DCF to fulfill requirements regarding Parent Education and Family Stabilization. Florida Statute 61.21 requires that parents involved in a dissolution of marriage complete a 4-hour parenting class if they have children under 18 years old.
Children In Between is a skills-based program that helps children and parents deal with the children’s reactions to divorce. Divorcing parents may use their children to manipulate and/or control each other around a variety of personal, social, and  financial issues. These tactics increase the stress and anxiety typically experienced by children of divorce and can increase children’s risk for behavior problems, depression, delinquency, substance use, teen pregnancy, school failure and dropout, and suicide. The course seeks to alleviate children’s problems such as:
  • Loss of concentration and attention
  • Declining grades and behavior problems at school
  • Withdrawal from friends
  • Emotional outbursts and health problems
  • Serious anger with one or both parents
  • Delinquency and substance use

A child advocate since the late 90’s, Dr. Roseman demonstrates the needs for collaborations in improving child outcomes for parents. Dr. Roseman provides co-parenting education to improve child outcomes when parents separate.

A prolific writer and speaker, Dr. Roseman advocates the research showing that child outcomes are most positive and long-lasting when parents fight less, use mediation methods for child custody and visitation solutions, and hire counsel who can best appreciate what is truly a child’s best interests and not necessarily the interests of the litigants. He served as the Assistant Director for Child Access, the Children’s Rights Council (CRC), Washington, DC (1998-2011) where he worked with his mentor, David L. Levy, Esq., CRC co-founder known by many as the “King of Joint Custody”.​
