Nita Scott, LMFT
Nita Scott is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) who is trained and experienced in providing counseling and therapy for individuals, families, couples, children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked with diverse populations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Her specialties include family dynamics and relationship issues (premarital education, intimacy issues, separation/divorce support, and parent-child relationships); trauma -related counseling; anger management; geriatric counseling; and grief counseling. Nita has extensive training in the areas of substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, suicide prevention, interpersonal violence, and domestic violence. Nita's treatment approaches include Aggression Replacement Training (ART), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Nita is also certified to provide consultation and supervision to undergraduate and graduate students in the field of Marriage and Family Therapy as a Qualified Supervisor through the Florida Mental Health Licensure Services.
